Napa Illustrations is a Helsinki-based illustration agency. Founded in 2007, the agency is a pioneer in its field in Finland. Napa Illustrations bridges the needs of producers and clients in the field of illustration, enabling fruitful and fluent collaboration between the two. The Finnish word Napa conveniently translates as ‘navel’ in English. And this Napa is one worth contemplating!
Who we are: We represent a group of 20 Finnish top-notch illustrators. Some of them have already gained more name and fame while others are emerging talents still waiting to be discovered. The available styles and techniques vary from watercolours and drawings to collage and vector graphics. And whether it was for advertising campaigns, books, magazines, websites or areas such as packaging and textile design, we have the right person for the job. Napa Illustrations is run by Marjo Granlund, MA, with a background as a gallerist and cultural producer. The agency is a natural expansion of artist and illustrator Jenni Rope’s Napa Books publishing house, sharing the same roster of illustrators.
How we work: Napa Illustrations offers expert consultancy and professional illustration work in different stages of projects from early planning to the finishing touches. The agency helps with choosing the perfect illustrator for any project and sets out to find new communication strategies together with the illustrator and the client. You might already have a specific illustrator in mind, or you might like us to suggest one that meets your expectations in terms of style and schedule. Whichever, we will take care of negotiating fees, drawing up the paperwork and handling other practical arrangements. Trust us to be your quick and reliable, one-stop shop for all different illustrative needs. In a similar way, Napa Illustration serves its illustrators, lending them a hand in difficult situations and seeing to their rights. In addition, we help the illustrators with their press relations, we represent them at fairs and organise exhibitions of their work.
