Jussi Karjalainen

Jussi (b. 1975) graduated as a graphic designer and illustrator from the Lahti Institute of Design in 1999. He is the other founding member of Napa Books.

Jussi used to work for the publishing house WSOY from 2000 to 2005 when he realized it was time to move on. After spending a year in Berlin, he is now a Helsinki-based freelancer, working at Super8 studio on everything from books to record covers and posters.

Jussi’s style is organic and a little bit retro. He often uses markers, pencils, chalk, gouache, printouts and the computer as his illustration tools. To kick back, Jussi plays percussion in the bands Selfish Shellfish and Vectors.
