MARKO TURUNEN
Marko Turunen was born in Kotka, Finland, in 1973. Today he lives in the winter sport city Lahti and works as an illustrator and artist. He also manages a little publishing house and comic book shop. Turunen graduated as a sculptor in 1997 but started to draw comics since he had no money for any other kind of artistic behavior. He won
the first price in Kemi’s nordic comic competition in novel series in 2000 and the grand price at the Fumetto festival in Luzern in 2003. In 2007 Finnish comics society granted him the most important finnish comic price, Puupäähattu.
His comic books have been published in finnish, french, german and italian. He has also made illustrations for a couple of children's books and for various newspapers and magazines. He watches a lot of television and plays some salibandy and football.
